This month’s Spotlight shines once again on Mark Rashid & Longs Peak Guitars In addition to being a skilled luthier whose guitars are in high demand, Mark is an internationally renowned horseman, clinician, and author of fifteen best-selling books. A masterful storyteller, Mark’s written work has been enjoyed by millions around the world and has continually received glowing reviews from prestigious equine enthusiasts, companies, and magazines.
He is also the author and producer of the fiction book and feature film Out of the Wild, available on Amazon Prime. It is a touching story of the redemption of a down and out cowboy. Mark’s vast experience with ranching, livestock, and the ‘cowboy’ way of life lends an honesty and credibility to the script, its characters, and situations that viewers will easily be able to identify with— and with which they will want to revisit over and over.
Mark has been a guest on NPR’s The Horse Show and was featured on the Nature series on PBS. He is the best-selling author of fifteen books including his newest, For the Love of the Horse, and such classics as Considering the Horse, Horses Never Lie, Life Lessons from a Ranch Horse, Horsemanship Through Life, as well as a novel, Out of the Wild. His books have also been translated into nine different languages. Mark has three music CD’s: Song of the Prairie, Making Good Time, and My Western Town, recorded with his good friend Brad Fitch.
Locally, Mark is well known as a performing musician, playing with a number of bands and often seen playing alongside his good friend, Brad Fitch. But of all the things that can be said about Mark, perhaps the most important and noteworthy is that he is one of the nicest and most genuine people that you’re ever apt to meet.
